Wishes

Attraction Tuesday!!

This month we are going to focus on the night shows at each park. I am really excited to begin with what I think is the best and most touching fireworks celebration that I have ever experienced......Wishes.

Wishes can be viewed at Magic Kingdom just in front of Cinderella Castle. This nighttime spectacular is truly a work of art. From the dazzling paint in the sky to the stunning musical score it is sure to bring a tear to your eyes. Narrated by Jiminy Cricket himself, this 12 minute long show takes you through the journey of believing in yourself. The message is beautiful! The story starts off with a wish and Tinkerbell as she steps off of Cinderella Castle and glides through the air. (This is a must see for all Disney newbies)

Characters such as Pinocchio, Cinderella, Ariel, Peter Pan and other beloved Disney Characters make an audio appearance through a fantastic tale told amongst the stars. In the end Jiminy shares that if you believe in yourself, all of your wishes will come true. Now if this is not the main focus of what Walt stood behind his entire life....I don't know what is.  This story truly opens the door for some great conversation between you and your children...what are your dreams and what are their dreams?

Fun Facts....

  1. If you are looking for Tinkerbell, she makes her appearance just after Jiminy says, " and it all starts with a wish."
  2. The fireworks launch for 11 different locations.
  3. Sometimes Tinkerbell is played by a male. The role requires a person that is not over 105 lbs and no more than 5 ft 3 in.
  4. Watch the castle throughout the show as it sparkles and changes color throughout the show.
Where should you watch the show?

  1. The best place to see the show is right in front of the castle. It will not fill up there until the start of the show.
  2. The very best place to watch the show is up on Main Street train station porch area. You are high up and have a gorgeous view of the show.
  3. If you are feeling very adventurous, read my article about Free things to do at WDW...there you will see some alternatives to watching Wishes at Magic Kingdom.

Looking for Free Fun at Disney World?

Money Saver Monday!!

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a weekend full of pixie dust.

Disney World is not short in the area of entertainment but many of the wonderful things to do cost money. How about some free options? My family and I love to take walks at the various Disney Resorts...many people would call this resort hoping. What we have found is that all of the resorts offer some fabulous options for free fun for the entire family. Between you and me, many of the options are great for romantic evenings as well. :0)

Get your walking shoes on because the free fun includes a nice stroll.

Take a stroll over to Wilderness Lodge, there you can find a mini version of Old Faithful, the geyser. The geyser spouts out between 7:00 & 10:00 PM. It can be found in the back past the pool.

Why not watch Wishes from a different location? Take a walk over to The Grand Floridian boat dock. There you will be able to take advantage of the audio soundtrack of Wishes that is piped into Narcoossees restaurant from the Magic Kingdom. It is truly a beautiful sight to see.

During the day take a walk through the woods from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness.

Visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge is a must on every WDW vacation for our family. The lobby alone is just stunning. I highly recommend heading there around dusk and going out to the viewing area. You will be in for a beautiful treat when you experience the animals coming out for the night. Often times once it is dark there are CM's there with night vision goggles for your viewing pleasure.

My very favorite place to be is the Polynesian at night. Tiki torches light the pathways of this ultra romantic Disney resort. As you walk the pathways make a stop at the beach to view the electric water pageant and fireworks from Magic Kingdom.

View from the beach.
