Tuesday's Top Ten Best & Worst Times to Visit......

After reading yesterday's post, we all know that there are ways to visit Disney and save some money. But we also know that planning a Disney World vacation has many factors...some are money related and some are crowd related. Let's talk about the best and worst times to visit Walt Disney World. Between you and me I hardly believe that there is ever a bad time to visit but for the sake of information...here we go!!!!

In no particular order.....

The most magical times to go to Walt Disney World are:

1.The second week of January through mid-February- While the weather can throw you for a loop(depending on where you reside) this is by far one of the least busy times of year and you may even score a hotel deal. Be sure to keep in mind that there are several holiday weekends throughout January and February which can cause a slight increase in price and cause the crowds to go up but overall this is a great time to visit.

Con: Due to low crowds you may encounter more ride refurbishments.

2. First three weeks of May-This is a really great month for weather, crowds, and fair hotel prices.

Cons: Stay away from Memorial Day weekend. This year Easter Sunday is late; this can cause some late spring break crowds.

3.Late August through September- Expect very hot weather and possible hurricane action but the very best deal of the year happens at this time of year...FREE DINING!!! Crowds can be very low during this time...you can even sneak in the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party mid-September.

Cons: At times the crowds can pick up do to free dining. The heat can cause you to take more breaks than normal.

4. Mid-November through mid December (not the week of Thanksgiving)-The weather can be cool but comfortable...normally the humidity has subsided by this time of year. Christmas decorations are up and ready as well as the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Cons: Crowds can pick up on the weekend as many will take weekend trips to Disney to enjoy the festivities.

5. The Time you choose to go!!! Whenever your family decides to go will be the most magical time to visit Walt Disney World!!! :0)

The worst times to visit Walt Disney World:

6. Mid February through mid April (this depends on Easter) - Especially during holiday weekends like President's Day and Easter. You can expect HUGE crowds with some major lines for all attractions. You will also get slammed with higher rates for airfare and lodging.

On the plus side: Weather is gorgeous and your children may not need to be pulled out of school, if you choose to go over spring break.

7. Mid Summer (June through early August)-Very crowded and extreme heat can make this time of year for some unbearable. If you go at this time of year you will want to have a plan of attack in motion, hit the parks as early as possible to allow for afternoon breaks when then heat is at it's all time high.

On the plus side: Again children are out of school and you can take advantage of those late night park hours. I just love those late nights at Walt Disney World!!!

8. December 26-31-This is by far the most expensive time of year to travel to Walt Disney World. You can expect to see crowds get worse by the day starting from about 12/20 through the end of the year.

On the plus side: You will see Walt Disney World at its best!! December is by far, the most magical time of year to travel.

9. Holiday Weekends- Some busy holiday weekends include, Thanksgiving, and any other national holiday with a three day weekend.

10. Never a bad time!!! I know I am writing a post about the best and worst times to visit...all of the information is just that...information. Whenever you choose to visit will be magical. Use the information above to help guide you and your family to making the best choice for you. :0)

See ya real soon!

Money Saver Monday!! What Season Saves You the Most Money??

Happy Monday Guru Readers! I truly hope that you enjoyed your time with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. If you spent your weekend shopping then there is no better time to start saving money on your next Walt Disney World vacation.

If you plan to save money the key is in choosing the right time to go. There are actually seasons that are defined as a "value" time to visit...and let me tell you that "value" time is shrinking each year. Be prepared to pull the children out of school if you would like to save mucho bucks, as many of the "value" season times fall between those time periods.

*Please note that the criteria for the seasons have changed for 2011.

Happy Planning!!!

Tuesday's Top Ten Things You Must Know Before You Go.......

Traveling to Walt Disney World is a working vacation from the time you book all of the way through the last day of your trip. When you are planning a trip to Disney World expect to plan if you want to have a wonderful vacation. Because there is so much to do on property, being well prepared will certainly enhance your vacation experience.

In no particular order, here are my Top 10 things you must know before you go.

1. The size of Walt Disney World- Walt Disney World is about the size of San Francisco. This means that you really should not plan to walk anywhere while vacationing there. To the contrary of many first timer vacationer beliefs, none of the parks are within walking distance to each other and most of the resorts are not within walking distance to any of the parks at all. When planning your Walt Disney World vacation you will want to plan for travel, it would be common to allow at least 30 minutes getting from your hotel to the parks.

2.  There is way too much to see and do on one trip. - The typical Walt Disney World vacation is about 7 days. My typical Disney vacation is about 10 days and even knowing the parks like the back of my hand; I still cannot do all that I intend to do on one trip. Even with a really great plan in hand, there are many things that you cannot plan for, weather, crowds, kids that may be way to tired to do anything else without a nap. Be sure to be very flexible on your travels. Know in advance that even seasoned Disney travelers cannot see and do everything all in one trip.

3. Extra Magic Hours-If you are so blessed as to be staying on Walt Disney World property, you will want to be sure to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours (EMH). These hours allow the park to either open an hour early or to close up to 3 hours later. EMH can only be utilized by Walt Disney World Resort guests as you will be asked to show your room key before you get on an attraction.  When there is morning EMH, that park will open at 8:00 AM, get there by 7:45 AM so that you can see rope drop and be among the first to enter the park and ride the rides. We were able to get on Mt. Everest 8 times between 8:00-8:45 one morning....we love that ride!!  Utilize the park until about 11:15 and then take an early lunch (see this post where I discuss the advantages to early lunch) then go back to your resort for some rest and go back for dinner. Usually, there is a park offering EMH for the night, and then you are fresh and ready to enjoy the evening activities. These EMH hours allow you and your family to see and do everything that Walt Disney World has to offer with limited crowds.
*The morning EMH can be a bit crowded with families but we have found some of the thrill rides to have much lower lines than regular times throughout the day.

4. Disney Transportation- Please do your research about how to use Disney transportation. This is such an invaluable tool that Disney has created to help make your stay more enjoyable. Disney provides extensive transportation options, from buses, monorails and boats from your Disney resort to all parts of the parks. Disney also provides free Magical Express airport transportation...yes I said free!! :0) I am always shocked to hear that people are renting cars. Take a week off and let Disney do the driving...less thinking for you.
*Be sure to understand the transportation routes prior to traveling as it can be a bit intimidating to new travelers.

5.  Fast Passes- Disney hit the nail on the head when they came out with their fast pass system. Not only is Fast Pass free but it helps save you time and time is money. :0) Check out Fast Pass Information to learn more about how to use it.

6.  Have a Plan- If you were going to a new state or foreign country you would do your research...we Disney World is a world of its own...  it is HUGE!!!!! You must have a plan of action before you go; not doing so will cause you to have a less than magical experience. There are so many wonderful free options to help you get started on your research...plus it is a ton of fun to talk Disney with others that love it!!  Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  1. Find an online Disney forum to and sign up so that you can ask questions about your trip. Believe me the Disney community is HUGE and people are willing to help you for free!! Check out my favorites.. www.intercot.com or our brand new Disney Guru forum www.wdwguru.proboards.com .
  2. Find a FREE Disney travel agent to help you book your trip. I love Magical Journeys . They offer personal service and are Disney fans themselves...the best part is they are free to use!!!
  3. Find out park hours, Extra Magic Hours schedules and rehab closures while you are there, as well as any special events made available during your stay.
  4. Make your dining reservations in advance. You cannot expect to walk up to restaurants and get in.
  5. This option is not free, but get a Disney guide book and read it a few times.
Just keep in mind that with all of the planning it is still essential to be flexible with your plans. :0)

7. Staying on Property Enhances the Magic- This is my personal opinion but I feel that staying on property keeps me indulged in the Disney magic. Not only are the resorts themed to your liking but the service is top notch no matter where you stay on property. I have stayed in all categories and have always been treated like a queen. In addition, Disney gives you an ample amount of perks for staying on property:

  • Disney's Magical Express(No need to rent a car)
  • Disney Transportation
  • Extra Magic Hours
  • Disney Dining Plans
  • Free Parking
  • Disney Service
I know that many people stay off property and love it!! The best part about Disney is that there is something for everyone. :0)

8.  Make Dining Reservations- Many people do not know that the Disney Dining reservation system is a hot item. They take reservations starting at 180 before you arrive...if you fail to make those reservations in advance you will not get into choice locations. People, including myself, wake up at 5:00 AM 180 before they depart to insure that they get those reservations. If there is a specific dining location you would like to attend, make sure to reserve it at 407-wdw-dine.

9. Know When You Are Going- Be sure to know all of the special events for the time of year you are traveling. It would be horrible to get there and miss out on The Halloween Party or the Christmas Party because you did not know it was taking place. Disney always has a celebration be sure to research your time of year.

10. Have Fun- Remember, Disney World is HUGE (did I say that already) and people get tired. You are there to create magical memories with your family and friends. Be sure to be planned but flexible as things do not always go as planned. Enjoy!!

See ya real soon!

Money Saver Monday!! Free things to do at Downtown Disney

Happy Monday Guru readers!! I hope you had a fantastic weekend!

My family and I are Disney World obsessed!! We absolutely love our family trips to Walt Disney World and take full advantage of all of the extras while traveling there. The one thing that may set us apart from many families is that we minimize shopping while we are at Disney World. We feel that our children are very lucky to go every year and that memories of our trips will far exceed the need for a new t-shirt. My family and I are constantly on the hunt for Disney freebies and low cost fun!!! While we love going to Downtown Disney like the next family...we just do not want to spend our time shopping. Check out the wonderful free or low cost things you can take advantage of next time you make a stop at Downtown Disney. :0)

  • Take a stroll over to the Magic Masters shop. Not only will you enjoy a free magic demonstration, but you will learn a new card trick!!

  • Children and  adults alike love Legos. Be sure to visit Lego Imagination Center because they have a FREE 3,000 square foot outdoor play area that has thousands of Lego blocks. Be sure to have your camera ready to snap a few photos of the huge Lego sculptures.

  • Check out the ever so popular interactive fountains where children can frolic and play in the water. Don't forget to pack swim diapers and extra clothes. :0)

  • We are always looking for a sweet treat while at Disney World. You will be in heaven when you visit Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop.  A Sundae will cost about $6.25 while shakes will cost about $3.95.  Can we say yummy!!!!!!!!!!!

Visiting During Christmas??? Here is what you can do for free!!!

It is peak season at Walt Disney World!! Believe me they call it peak season for a reason. Lights and decorations cover every end of the parks and resorts. No matter where you go you are sure to be reminded that a holiday celebration is going on.

Not everything at Walt Disney World requires a hard ticket in order to enjoy the holiday season. Your regular park ticket is more than enough to get you into some of the most wondrous sights at Walt Disney World during the holiday season.

Disney's Hollywood Studios: Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
Millions of sparkling lights shine in falling snow in this theme park, in the Streets of America backlot area.
The history of this display goes back to Little Rock Arkansas in 1986, when businessman Jennings Osborne strung up 1000 red lights for his 6-year-old daughter. The display grew every year, so much so that-- by the time it reached 3 million lights-- the neighbors took legal action!
Luckily the whole thing moved to a permanent home in Orlando. Now thousands of visitors enjoy 5 million lights on trees, carousels, Mickey, Santa, and lots more, plus "Florida snow".  Since 2006, the Spectacle has had "dancing" lights: every 15 minutes, choreographed lights swirl to a medley of classic holiday music; snow flurries, too.

This is a must do if you are visiting Walt Disney World between November 8, 2010 and January 3, 2011.

Disney Christmas: Epcot - Holidays Around the World

At any time of year it's fun to tour the world at Epcot, by visiting the pavilions from 11 different countries ranged around the World Showcase Lagoon, but from November 26, 2010 to December 30 2010 the tour is even better, celebrating Holidays Around the World: storytelling, Pere Noel in France, la Befana in Italy, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah exhibits in The American Adventure Rotunda.

Epcot: Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional is an annual tradition and a big part of a Disney Christmas for many visitors: a retelling of the Christmas story with a celebrity narrator accompanied(Click here for the lineup) by a choir and a 50-piece orchestra.
The Candlelight Processional is included with Epcot park admission, and takes place at 5:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., from November 26,2010 to December. 30 2010. (If you purchase a Candlelight Processional Dinner Package, you'll get reserved seating in the American Gardens Theater for this show.)
Also at Epcot:
  • Lights of Winter, a musical light show nightly at the World Showcase Plaza;
  • Mickey's Tree Lighting Treat: every evening, Mickey and friends light a Christmas Tree in the World Showcase Plaza;
  • IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth --the laser light and fireworks show that ends the night at Epcot year-round-- has a special finale for the holiday season, including classic song "Let There Be Peace On Earth"
Disney's Animal Kingdom

Although Christmas it's much less emphasized, you'll find appropriate decorations at various points in the park, but the main celebration comes with Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade (November  14, 2010-January 3, 2011).

Christmas at the Resorts

Many people will not take the time to visit Disney Resorts during the holiday season....while others say it is a must do. Here are some of the resort Christmas treasures that are sure to keep you in the holiday spirit.
  • Grand Floridian - This resort is stunning on a normal day, but it is gorgeous during the holidays.  One of its main features in the six-story atrium is a large hand-crafted gingerbread house, large enough to actually use as a place to sell gingerbread "shingles."
  • Wilderness Lodge - The rustic setting with Christmas added is romantic and very earthy. Make time to  rent a sleigh ride through the grounds.
  • The Yacht, Beach and Boardwalk Resorts - Some spectacular displays are found within these Boardwalk resorts, including a large candy roller coaster.
  • Dolphin and Swan - Activities are held throughout the week with an emphasis on entertaining kids.  From Santa's Workshop and cookie decorating to meeting Santa or having s'mores on the beach, the holidays are celebrated to the fullest here.
Disney has done it again, made it virtually impossible for anyone to say that they have done it all. No matter what time of year you visit Walt Disney World, you are always sure to see something new. The best part is when you don't need to pay an extra dime to experience it all. Some of the most magical moments of Christmas at Walt Disney World are free!!

Tuesday's Top Ten Things I Have Yet to Experience at Walt Disney World...

Looking at my list of things that I have yet to experience, I simply cannot believe that I have yet to try any of these. I guess I need to plan another trip!! :0)

Enjoy!

1. Tom Sawyer Island-Open until dusk, Tom Sawyer Island is one big playground for all kids. Accessible only by raft, the island is a walk through attraction. This is a great haven to unwind where adults can sit on rocking chairs and watch the hustle and bustle of the Magic Kingdom across the Rivers of America, while relaxing amidst the shade of the great oaks, pines, red maples, elms and sycamores. Tom Sawyer Island also offers a place for kids to let off steam as they wander through the caves and play in Fort Sam Clemens.
Families can cross the barrel bridge and explore the working water wheel, follow the dirt paths and then rest on benches found scattered throughout.

2. Club Cool at Epcot-Club Cool is the place to go to cool down and sip a free beverage or two. Sponsored by Coca-Cola, this "exhibit" situated near Innoventions West, offers free samples of soft drinks from around the world, as well as Coca-Cola merchandise.

3. Kim Possible Adventure-Follow the signs and meet Kim Possible agents who will explain your challenge. Once you are ready, swipe your park admissions ticket and receive a Kim Possible "Fast Pass"! This FastPass will tell you where and when to report for your mission!
Once at the designated location, you will receive your Kimmunicator, a GPS cell phone with special enhancements.

The Kimmunicator is a really neat device that speaks your instructions to you while displaying animated characters on the device screen. You’re instructed to go find clues in certain locations. Once your mission is completed, your Kimmunicator will tell you where to return your device.

4. Finding Nemo The Musical-Shows are very difficult for our family because my younger children have a difficult time sitting still. We seem to spend more time trying to keep them quiet then enjoying the show. I really want to see this show and will make it a must do on our next trip.

5.Turkey Leg from Frontierland-I always watch people walking around with a massive turkey leg and think to myself that I would love to get one. I just simply have never gotten around to it. Maybe next time!! :0)

6. Drink Around the World Showcase- This is where you walk around to each country and try an adult beverage from around the world. Yummy!! Sounds so very refreshing!!

7.  Hall of Presidents- This is truly an attraction that I always mean to try and never do. I love history and I know that I would really enjoy this attraction. I am going to promise to myself to give this attraction a try the next time I visit Walt Disney World.

8. Disney Water Parks- I live in a location that s a multitude of indoor water parks, I m just not interested in visiting water parks while I am at Walt Disney World. I am thinking that once my kids are a bit older I may give them a whirl.

9. The Enchanted Tiki Room-Under New Management- T be really honest, this attraction has never grabbed my attention. I know that it must be great...after all, all things Disney are wonderful!!

10. Contemporary Resort- I have stayed at all of the resorts on the monorail, but not Contemporary. I have always wanted to try it. I am not sure I will ever get the chance as I think my family and I are going to take the plunge and purchase Disney Vacation Club.

I just love that I have yet to see and do everything at Walt Disney World!! Every time we visit it is a brand new adventure! I am going to make my top ten list of things that I have yet to experience, my number one priority for my next visit.

What is something you have always wanted to try at Walt Disney World?

Money Saver Monday!!!

Happy Monday Guru Readers!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Eating at Walt Disney World can be a very expensive activity. I have a great money saver for you when eating on Walt Disney World property. Next time you eat at a counter service restaurant, order one double cheeseburger combo meal. (Includes a drink, fries and the burger) Ask the cast member for an extra bun...they will give you one so do not be shy(there is a fee). Then split the burger to make it two!! I just love doing this I feel so thrifty!! You can share the fries and the drink and you have two meals with one low cost. If you have children with you this is a great way to have them share a meal and keep costs down.  Another great thing  about this is that many of the counter service locations have a condiment bar, so you can each go and create a fully loaded burger to your liking...all for the cost of one.

* The bun at some locations has gone up in price...ask for the price before paying to determine if it is worth it.

I would love to chat Disney....email me or comment below with your questions, suggestions or thoughts.

Tuesday's Top Ten Ways to Save Money For your Walt Disney World Vacation

Saving for a Walt Disney World Vacation can be quite a task.  When confronted with the total cost of the trip no worries...take a look at some of the ways that many families save money for their Walt Disney World vacations.

Here are a few things to keep in mind: When you book your trip, you are only required to make a $200 deposit to hold your trip. What we do from there is divide the total by however many months are left until the final payment is due and viola the trip is paid in full!!!

1. Sell your old stuff on ebay
Open an ebay account and begin to sell, sell, sell!! The money will be deposited into your paypal account...allow it to accumulate in the account for a nice lump sum payment at the end of your trip. We usually use that money as our spending money for our trip. Some items I have sold that have been raking in the dough for us are; baby clothes, books, shoes, coats, & costumes just to name a few.

2. Vacation Fund
Open a separate bank account that is not tied to any of your accounts that you use. In addition, it may not be a bad idea to skip the debit card for that account. Doing this allows you to save but not touch the money in that account.  Many people say that they can very easily do this at their local credit union.

3. Garage Sale
I live in an area of the US where the weather is too cold to host garage sales year round. Once spring has arrived I am ready to start selling. You would be amazed at how quickly the earnings can add up. I make anywhere from $60-$200 per day.

4. Disney Gift Cards
As you save for your upcoming trip, why not load a Disney Gift Card with your savings. This makes for an excellent way to save for your trip! I LOVE this idea because you truly cannot touch this money for any other purpose but your Disney trip. Just be sure that the gift card you are loading can be used at the parks...I have heard that some of the cards have limited access on Disney property.

5. Disney Savings Jar
A good friend of mine creates a Disney savings jar every time she is planning a Disney vacation. A great way to involve the whole family in saving would be to have them help you create the jar. Make a deal to put all loose change and dollar bills into the jar at the end of each day. You would not believe how quick this fund will add up.

6.  Disney Visa Card
The Disney Visa card has some excellent perks for its card holders. This is a really great card for those that love Disney. Just like all things Disney related, the perks are endless!! One reader said that they pay many of their monthly expensed with their Disney card, pay it off at the end of the month and use the rewards toward their Disney trip. Visit Disney Rewards Visa for more information...I thought that it was neat to see that they also offer a debit card option.

7. Round Your Check Book Up
When you put an entry into your checkbook, round it up to the nearest dollar. For example, if you wrote a check for 11.49 put 12.00 into your check book.  This is a great way to have a small cushion in your account just in case if you make any errors, also you will be able to earn some interest on the extra money you have saved.

8. Cut One Frivolous Expense
We all love our morning latte, but let’s face it that extra $5 per day could amount to a nice chunk of change by the time you go on your next Disney vacation. If you do not think you can cut the expense entirely then give yourself treat days. I always allow myself that latte on Mondays and Fridays.

9. Ask for Gift Certificates
The holidays are right around the corner that means gift giving is in full swing. We always ask for Disney Gift Cards or airline certificates as a gift. This is an excellent addition into our Disney savings.

10. Get Your Family Involved
Kids love knowing that they have help contribute to their Disney trip. Get the kids involved in saving. This is a great skill for kids of all ages, they will be amazed at how saving every penny can really add up. You could even ask them if they have any ideas about making/saving some extra money.

Money Saver Monday!

Happy Monday Guru readers!! I hope that you had the best weekend with your family and friends.  :0)

Someone is always planning a Walt Disney World vacation. Many people ask me how to get the best deals on vacation packages to Walt Disney World. Believe me folks; Walt Disney World can be much more affordable than you think!!

I know that planning a trip to Disney can be a drooling task because there is so much to see and do; a lot of good planning comes with time. I talk to many Walt Disney World travelers and the one mistake I hear all of the time is that people simply do not research discounts and time of year prices. One tip you need to know is, once you make your Walt Disney World reservation, it can always be modified. As new discounts come out and are offered, you can call 407-W-DISNEY to modify your reservation. In addition, you can book with an authorized Disney Travel Agent. Many of these agents do not charge a fee and pay extra special attention to detail. My family and I use Magical Journeys. (I am not endorsed by this company....I just think they do a really great job).  The advantage to using Magical Journeys is that not only are they Disney experts, but you do not need to be on the hunt for the best deals and tips. Magical Journeys will do all of the leg work for you. I usually book my vacation in January and MJ modifies it at least twice before I go, each time saving me more money.

So travel tip for today is: Pay close attention to public discounts and offers...call Disney or book with MJ to be sure you are getting the most bang for your buck!!

By the way...I write this article because a few years back before I knew about modifying my reservation...I went during free dining but had no idea and paid for it out of pocket....yikes!!!

I would love to hear about how you save money when traveling to Walt Disney World. Email me your thoughts!

Secret Saturday!!

Happy Saturday Guru readers!!

I have just come across a really cool rumor/secret that I want to share with you.

Be sure to get in line for the Haunted Mansion at 1300 hours. A guest has reported that her children were approached by a Haunted Mansion Cast Member and asked if they would like to change into the Haunted Mansion costume and welcome guests. The children were taken to the back to change into child sized Haunted Mansion costumes.  As they greeted the guests they were told to tell them to drag their bodies to the dead center of the room. :0) After the children finished they were taken through the back entrance of the ride and escorted into their doom buggy.

It is rumored that this takes place everyday at 1300 hours. Wow....just another thing that makes Walt Disney World sooooo magical!!!

Email me your magical moments with me I would love to blog about them.

Why are you going there again?!

My family and I cannot seem to get enough of Walt Disney World. We are always planning another trip to the World.  I cannot tell you how many times people ask me, "Why are you going there AGAIN"?!

Why do we keep going back you ask???? The restaurants? The cast members? The resorts? The parks? The ambiance?  Yes, yes and yes to all!!!

A little bit about my travel habits to Walt Disney World. My family of five takes a trip to the World once per year. Our goal is to be able to visit at least twice per year. I spend a TON of time researching our trips to get  the best price, accommodations, meals and experience for what we can afford. We have begun to realize that if we plan to continue to visit Walt Disney World as much as we do, we should probably begin to look into DVC(Disney Vacation Club) we will save that topic for another time. :0)

The restaurants?

Absolutely!!!! My family and I LOVE to eat! We also LOVE the Disney Dining plan. My kids’ just love being able to take the menu, and have full control over what they order to eat. Disney World has food for every budget and taste. Yes it is true, that some of the food quality has changed throughout the years but none the less we always feel well treated and fed during our stay at Walt Disney World.

The cast members?

Oh yeah baby!!! We arrived at Pop Century at 1:45 AM two weeks ago...not only were we tired but our three kids were crabby!! All we wanted was to go to bed but to our surprise we were greeted by towel creatures from mousekeeping. That just made the day!! Irene a wonderful cast member that was working outside of Dinosaur gave my son a finger puppet when he was not tall enough to go on the ride. She talked to Lucas and I while the rest of our family went on the ride. I was so grateful that she was there to keep us company while we waited. We will never forget Irene. When you are on Walt Disney World property every cast member is there to make your stay magical. I have found it so amazing that Disney World employs about 60,000 well trained professional people. How do they do that? Even the younger employees are just fantastic! Be sure to send your cast member complements to Walt Disney World so that your favorite cast members can be appreciated.

The resorts?

Most definitely!! I do not care where you chose to stay, as long as you are on Walt Disney World property, you are well cared for. Disney makes you feel special at every resort category. I have had the pleasure of staying at all levels of resorts and I have always been treated like a queen. No matter what I needed it was always there for me. I would also like to point out that Walt Disney Resorts are extremely well maintained....the rooms are the cleanest hotel rooms that I have ever stayed in. You rock mouskeeping!!!

The park?

What can I say....the parks are most of the reason that any of us are drawn to Walt Disney World. I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is to be a kid again while at the parks. Disney World is a truly magical place, even if you do not like rides there is so much to see and do. I have been to Disney over 20 times and I still discover new things every time I visit.

The ambiance?

This is the number one reason why I keep visiting Walt Disney World. I have said it before and I will say it again, I truly feel like I am on another planet when I am there. For one week I get to strike off of cooking, cleaning, thinking, talking on the phone, TV, driving and I get to stay away from any distractions that keep me from focusing on my family. When I am at Disney World my focus is only on my family. This one week a year helps us reconnect as a family doing something that we all enjoy. I am able to make all three of my kids happy despite their age gap....13, 5 & 2.

So to my friends, family and anyone else that asks me, "Why are you going there again?" My answer is above....we just love everything about Walt Disney World. What is there not to love?

Decorate Your Room for the Holidays

The holiday season at Walt Disney World is for many the most magical time of year to visit. From dancing lights to beautifully decorated trees, like everything else at Walt Disney World, the holidays are celebrated top notch. Not one corner of the resort is untouched....unless of course you decide not to decorate your resort room???

My family and I decided to decorate our room at Pop Century this year and man did we have fun!! We strung pumpkin lights, stuck window clings, and displayed all of our towel creatures on the ledge in our windows. I am not going to lie, I was a bit nervous to put up all of my decorations in fear that I would look corny....but actually people had way more than I had. It was really neat to walk around the resort and see all of the personal touches that people brought with them from home. Going to Disney World is like going home....why not make your space feel more cozy and complete.

For the holiday season why not do it up big?? You can even be thrifty about it....bring what you have from home or visit your local dollar store.  Window clings, a stream of lights, and maybe even a small table top Christmas tree would make you feel like you are home for the holidays.

If you are so inclined, you can arrange for tree delivery to your resort room from the Disney Florist, they have beautiful predesigned and custom trees. If you decide to order from the Disney Florist be prepared to spend some big money for a tree, as they are very expensive.

Do you visit Walt Disney World for the holiday season? I would love to hear about how you decorate your room for the holidays. If you are visiting Walt Disney World soon, I would love it if you would take some pictures of decorated resort windows...I will post them and be sure to give you credit for the pictures.

Check out some pictures of windows below:
